MDS (Metadata Services) - File Based

SOA Suite has a provision for sharing SOA artifacts through MDS. This facilitates greater reuse of SOA artifacts such as XML schema, WSDL, fault policies etc..

It can be of two types 1) File Based 2) Database Based.

•  In 11g MDS is created under <Jdeveloper-home>/Integration/seed directory and in 12c it is created under the folder soamds.
• Default folder “SOA” is used to store common system “SOA-Artifacts”
• “Custom Artifacts” are to be stored under folder “apps”

      

       Creating SOA-MDS File Based Connection.

       

      Select Connection Type as File Based MDS.

      

      Browse the folder upto <Jdeveloper-home>/Integration/seed as shown below.

     

     Now Test Connection.

     

    Place the artifacts which we want to use in the project under apps folder and we can see the 

    same in resource palette as shown below

    

    Reusing the custom artifacts in the project as below.

    

    Browse for MDS Location.

    

    

    Click Next and Finish. Before deploying the composite make sure the same folder structure
